This research analyzed the difference between learning level of self-direction and learning motivation of physical education on the students who have learned with self-directed learning style since 2000 according to demographical trait and tried to examine the relationship between learning level of self-direction and learning motivation for the physical education. The method of this research was questionnaires to 200 male students and 204 female students, totally 404 students, of four middle schools under the jurisdiction of Gangseo district office of education. The data was inputted certain computer and went into One-way ANOVA by window SPSS 11.0 and analyzed by Multiple Regression Analysis. Following is the conclusion.
First, The relationship between middle school student's demographical factor and subordinate factor of self-direction is that the factor of self-assurance and understanding is influenced by sex, curiosity and understanding responsibility factor of learning are influenced by the order of birth, and self-understanding factor is influenced by parent's academic background and job.
Second, The relationship between student's grade, parent's academic background and subordinate factor of learning motivation of physical education is influenced by the factor of learning value and tension, and the relationship between sex and learning motivation is influenced by feeling capability, learning attitude and factor of learning value.
Third, Student's self-assurance and self-opening to challenge as the subordinate factors of self-direction give positive influence to feeling capability which is a subordinate factor of learning motivation of physical education. The factors of attachment to learning and self-opening to challenge give positive influence to learning attitude and method. The factor of self-understanding gives positive influence to the factor of tension, and the factor of self-assurance as a self-directed student gives positive influence to the factor of learning value.
