Song-gang, (as the real name as Jeong-cheol) was a renowned poet who was born in 1536 and died in 1593. Under the draconian tyranny in the social tumults of the Eul-sa scholar-massacre (1544), intra-party conflicts and Im-jin Japanese infiltration (1592), he was one of way-breaking intelligent administrator and literary artist in the stormy and stressed age.
In this sense, his own wino-literature as the mediator of rice wine constructed his sole creative poetry world. With his remaining as 90 pieces of Korean short lyrics (shijos) including 4 pieces of lyrics, 3 prattle-shijos and 960 pieces of Chinese poems including 4 pieces of odes, his literary excellence has been highly estimated ceaselessly up to now.
Even though his excellent creative characteristics were originated with psychological imagination in Chinese poems, and fertilized on the basis of Korean poems, nearly all of researchers have only focused on the study of Song-gang's lyrical verses and Korean typical style of verses, namely, shijos with interest.
In this respect, this study aimed to make a close quest for a subject of “nature” to light his excellent creative psychological mentality through the perusal of 574 Chinese lyrical verses in Song-gang's collected anthologies.
Song-gang's creative writing of Chinese verses had been started with an accomplished form in the former part of his life and later in his retired home-coming age, his creative working activities were still more active than ever. As for his literary background, Chang-pyeong was his own stronghold of nature. As his natural motif for creating mentality, mountains and the water, clouds and the moon, flowers and trees, and birds had been sublimated into the sentiment of his verses thorough vicissitudes of experiences. That is to say,a sympathy of yearning for King was expressed with a pointing-a-thing-means-a-poetic-matter way or a pointing-an-enthusiastic-thing-means-a-poetic-matter way with a dynamic and aesthetic property with high-spirited vitality.
