The purpose of this study is to consider how the America forces is figured in division novel. From this study, we could contemplate the process of transformation and view of korean toward the America and America forces. For this on thesis, we considered divided situation in an environment of liberation and inquired their images in all aspects, as a character of positive, negative and occupational troops.
With the result, we could find the following works, 「Mr. Bang」 by Chae Man Seek, 「The Way Of Liberation Town」by Gang Sin Jae, 「Dong Hang」 by Choi Il Nam, 「The Dog Of Green Gate」 by Lee Bum Sun etc as positive characters; 「The Family Of Abae」, 'Korea Jang' by Jyun Sang Kook, 「The Street Of Chinese」 by Oh Jung Hei, 「Hae Byuk」 by Lee Moon Koo, 「The Region Of Hwang Sun」by Oh Sang Won, 「The House Below The Sky」 by Kim Sung Dong etc aspositive characters; 「Soyrry Kim」 by Song Byung Soo, 「A Basin」 by Nam Jung Hyun, 「The Scream Of Yellow Dog」 by Chun Seung Sae, 「The Summer In That Year」 by Kim Sung Dong, 「A Diary Of Wrath」 by Sin Sang Woong, 「Cohabitation Man」 by Park Suk 500, 「America」 by Cho Hae Il etc as negative image of occupational troops
There are a number of works dealing with the American and American forces asnegative characters or occupational troops and it seems to a result from the fact that korea had been gradually democratizing with increasing minds hoping forrestoring the sovereignty and its reflection to novels of nationalism ranges.
