This paper examines the 1950s’ fictions including not only the fictions of south and north Korea in the Korean War but also the fictions in the postwar period. This work tries to investigate the relationship between the logic of the Korean War and the way of postwar restoration appeared in south and north Korea differently. This study adopts the sociology of literature as the methodology examining 1950s’ fictions, because the Koran War had absolute power over 1950s’ period.
The South and North Korean fictions shows hatred toward the enemies in the Korean War period equally. But the directions of hatred are different. The object that they have to defeat is American imperialism logically in the case of the North Korean fiction, but the object that they have to defeat is whole North Korea in the case of the South Korean fiction, So the North Korean fiction shows the feeling a pity for the people of the South Korea, on the other hand the South Korean fiction shows the hostility toward whole the North Korean people. The different logics on the Korean War of the South and North Korea have influence on the Korean War period fictions like this.
The logic of the Korean War also have influence on the postwar period fictions. The North Korean fictions shows the strong will for restoration, in the other hand the South Korean fictions shows that an individual has to find the way of recovery. So the South Koran fictions reveal more diverse aspects to get over the injury that the war leaved. Although the appearances are abstract and escapable, those have significance as the first step for the overcome of division.
