With the increase in the number of immigrant youth, Korean language education for them is gradually being emphasized. Related studies have been conducted later than others, and only recently a handful of articles which based on learner corpus to study for syntactic development or accuracy have been published. Especially, there are few studies that examine specific morphemes directly and meticulously. Therefore, the study focuses on the pre-final ending "-eoss-", which is difficult for learners to master even at an advanced stage, and analyzes the use of "-eoss-" by Chinese immigrant youth over time. The development of "-eoss-" in relation to phase properties was also verified to see if it was consistent with the Aspect Hypothesis(AH). To this end, the collected essay data were coded after 18 months of induced essay writing with three Chinese immigrant youth. Then the processed data were then analyzed again on a 6-month basis. The results showed that it was '-eoss-' that combined most with activities in all three stages, while accomplishment, achievement, and states all combined with '-eoss-' in an irregular order. It was also confirmed in all three stages that "-eoss-" combined with states with the same accuracy which was the lowest among the four types of verbs. Overall, the use of the pre-final ending "-eoss-" was becoming more frequent, and the accuracy was slowly increasing. In addition, the accuracy of combining the same type of verb with "-eoss-" varied very little across all three stages. Besides, the highest accuracy was found in combination with achievement, followed by accomplishment, activities, and states, and it can be confirmed that the use of the pre-final ending "-eoss-" is influenced by the aspectual characters of different verb. Thus, the results of this study can basically prove the validity of the AH. Moreover, some of the results are different from previous studies targeting adults. The author believes that Korean language education for immigrant youth should be different from adults’, and the results of this study to some extent side by side prove that is reasonable.
