In this study, we attempted to investigate the characteristics of the Banjeondogam, focusing on the Banjeondogam installed during the reign of King Chungsuk, by examining the methods of receiving, procuring, and executing the Banjeon and the political and economic use of the organization. During the reign of King Chungnyeol, the first dedicated organization, the Banjeonsaek, appeared and later during the reign of King Chungsuk, the Banjeondogam which was larger in scale than the Banjeonsaek was established. Since the Banjeondogam was an organization that inherited the Banjeonsaek, it collected Banjeon from officials and ordinary people, and the five provinces of the country were included in the scope of collection. it was collected by Anryeomsa and the lower-ranking magistrates, who emerged as the core of tax collection in the Yuan intervention period. In addition, the Banjeondogam provided political funds to King Chungsuk in his fight against domestic and international enemies. King Chungsuk also used the collection of money from the Banjeondogam as a way to solve the financial exhaustion. In this way, the Banjeondogam was an organization for raising travel expenses, but it also had the character of a political organization to support the king amid the chaotic domestic and international political situation during the reign of King Chungsuk. In addition, the Banjeondogam was utilized as an alternative to the chronic financial depletion problem of the reign of King Chungsuk, and it also had the character of a financial organization.
