This study aims to identify the issues and characteristics of school physical education policies from 2011 to 2023 and to examine the changes over different periods. For this purpose, a keyword analysis and topic-modeling (LDA) analysis were conducted on 94 press releases related to school physical education policies prepared and distributed by the Ministry of Education. The main findings of the study are as follows. First, the delivery and promotion of school physical education policies through press releases showed a steady increase, despite annual variations. Second, the topic modeling analysis of press releases for each period revealed a total of seven topics in period I, six topics in period II, and four topics in period III. Among these, topics related to school sports clubs emerged consistently across all three periods. This suggests that school sports club activities, introduced in 2007, have had a significant impact on both the internal and external aspects of school physical education policies. Third, in periods I and II, policies aimed at securing programs to revitalize school physical education, diversifying physical education career and vocational education, and expanding the placement of sports instructors were identified, along with agreements, educational donations, and community-linked policies. Fourth, in period III, issues such as student-athletes" right to education, human rights, and a safe environment emerged as independent issues. Based on the analysis results, the study suggests developmental implications for school physical education policies and directions for future research.
