The purpose of this study was to explore the actual condition of the residential environment of university student athletes. Participants in the study selected 16 people (male: 9 people, female: 7 people) in consideration of the event, gender, grade, and region, etc. The collected interview data derived themes through area analysis and classification analysis. As a result of the study, first, "the actual condition of the dormitory" was found to be "type: a dormitory dedicated to general dormitories and sportsmen", "reason for use: duty and autonomy", and "the meaning of a dormitory: a space where there is a rest". Second, "difficulty in living in a dormitory" was found to be "physical aspect: insufficient laundry facilities", "time and space aspect: privacy invasion", and "relational aspect: uncomfortable cohabitation". Third, "changed dormitory culture" was found to be "institutional aspect: dormitory experienced for the first time", "living aspect: effort for horizontal relationship", and "personal aspect: between autonomy and control". Subsequent studies were suggested based on research results and discussions.
