Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out people’s perception sand tendencies regarding golf across different season. It investigates the key terms associated with golf that individuals frequently use and encounter during specific seasons and analyzes the interrelationships among these key terms.
Method: To gause seasonal interest in golf, the study employed Textom, a primary data collection tool for big data analysis. Texts posted on various platforms incluidng news, bulletin boards, blogs, cafes, and Facebook, sourced from three web portals: NAVER, Google, and Daum, were selected for analysis. The study employed Textom, UNICET, and NetDraw programs to collect golf-related keywords between 2021 and 2022, conducting network analysis and CONCOR analysis.
Results: The findings of the study indicate the following: Firstly, golf-related keywords were categorized into various themes, including places, goods, events, individuals, clothing, and practice. Secondly, these keywords exhibited seasonal variations in terms of frequency and occurrence. The seasonal analysis, segmented by time periods, not only reflected the typical characteristics of different seasons but also highlighted specific issues such as the impact of COVID-19 and golf competitions.
