The exploration of this study concentrated on students’ perceptions about the possibilities of learning transfer from an infographic-based writing course and the detailed instances in near and far learning transfer identified. A qualitative study in which 19 college students taking the writing course participated was conducted by analyzing writing products, reflection notes, and supplementary written documents. The findings of the study showed that the possibilities of learning transfer involved English use, idea brainstorming, knowledge and skills about writing, and infographic making. Far learning transfer took place when students learned a coding system, studied English, made the PPT slides, designed self-promoting cards, and conducted projects in academic courses during the semester. In terms of near transfer, all of the students adequately utilized the learning outcomes from the writing course to accomplish the final book report project.
