This article aims to provide resources and ideas in developing an infographic-based L2 writing course. Infographics have been employed as a pedagogical choice in many disciplines. It implies that making infographics can help L2 learners to communicate information effectively in a variety of academic fields and professions. This article presents the seven instructional steps that L2 writing teachers can take for their own infographic-based writing course. The instructional procedures include: an introduction to the writing task, infographic analysis, online tool acquisition, research, infographic composition, feedback/revision, and reflection. The specific details and resources of each writing stage are articulated in this article. Therefore, it is expected that L2 writing teachers can take and modify pedagogical suggestions in this article to their own writing course, in order to empower L2 writers to actively participate in pubic and professional settings with the popular mode of the contemporary written discourse.
