With the beginning of the 21st century came an increased interest in giftedness and the development of giftedness, which has led the Korean government to emphasize teacher observation and recommendation to give gifted students with diverse talents more chances to participate in gifted programs. Based on this background, the issue of whether teachers have a proper perception of giftedness and the development of giftedness becomes more important. Therefore, this study intended to investigate this matter with the following research question: (a) What kind of characteristics do Korean elementary teachers’ perceptions exhibit about gifted education? To investigate answers about this question, this study created the survey composed of items indicating two constructs: TCG and TDS. The first shows participants’ perceptions related to giftedness and the latter indicates participants’ perceptions related to the accommodation of gifted services. In short, this study analyzed participants’ responses according to ranking order and thematic categories to find what characteristics of perception they held related to giftedness and talent development support as well as to gain implications about Korean gifted education policies.
