It has been said that a compound verb which combines more than one verb is very difficult to acquire for those who study japanese. Especially, the expression which has 2 meanings like 「~dasu」and 「~hajimeru」is also hard to distinguish clearly between them. 20 japanese modern fictions was analyzed in terms of morphological characteristics in order to differentiate between 「~dasu」and 「~hajimeru」. It aims to describe the tendencies among them. As a result of this study, it was revealed that two expressions was commonly identified at preceding verbs. This study recommend for most japanese learners that 「~hajimeru」may be used to start movements because 「~hajimeru」 can be combined widely with various verbs.
