This study aims to explore the effect of grammar instruction using non-face-to-face videos for beginner-level learners of English. A total of 86 first year university students participated in the study for the second semester in the general English course. To conduct the study, the following research questions were constructed. First, “Do beginner-level learners of English show higher learning achievements in grammar instruction using non-face-to-face videos than face-to-face classes?” Second, “How do beginner-level learners of English perceive grammar learning using non-face-to-face videos in comparison with face-to-face classes?” To compare learning achievements between the two learning methods, the mean scores of grammar items in the mid-term and final tests were respectively analyzed. The findings indicated that beginners in the English class showed higher learning achievements for grammatical elements in non-face-to-face video classes than face-to-face classes. Additionally, the learners’ responses indicated that they positively recognized the effectiveness of non-face-to-face videos.
