Purpose: Ecologism is a philosophy for overcoming human problems and ecological crises. Ecologism is attracting attention as a perspective that diagnoses the present in various fields and suggests a vision for the future. The purpose of this study is to understand the themes and trends of Korean studies considered from an ecological perspective. Through this, the relationship between ecologism and physical education will be examined and the direction of physical education will be suggested from the viewpoint of ecologism.
Method: In order to achieve the study purpose, literature map through literature review was used. The literature map proposed by Creswell (2009/2011) visualizes the subject and flow of previous study and suggests the direction of future study. The data was searched using RISS by combining keywords such as "ecologism", "ecology", and "physical education". From the searched data, 21 studies belonging to the category of "Physical Education" were selected. For data analysis, the collected studies were categorized according to the subject and method, and then a literature map was made in consideration of the years, interrelationships, and references of the categorized studies. For the validity of the study, an expert group consisting of one elementary school physical education professor and three elementary school physical education doctorates participated in and verified all the processes.
Result: The literature map made through literature review is shown in 〈Figure 1〉, and the results are as follows.
