The purpose of this paper is to study Kant’s interdisciplinary use of terminology, which is applied on his account of radial evil. Europe in the 18th Century was a period of translating academic terms from Latin to foreign languages. Christian Wolff had a great influence on the direction and decision in translational work done on German academic terms. Kant, who strongly reflected the influence of Wolff, always considered Latin into account and applied basic German terms. As you may know, Kant was a natural scientist by trade with an ardent desire and thirst for knowledge. At the same time, Kant responded sensitively to the trends of new mathematics (algebra) in which he actively accepted. Considering such circumstances, let’s discuss Kant’s account of evil (radical evil) and conscience. First, I will clarify that Kant’s concept of good and evil determinism is consistent with his philosophy (v. 2) Then, I will discuss a leading concept of Kantian ethics and its relationship to evil (v. 3). Next, I will examine how Kant’s in-depth thought on the fundamental of radical evil can be identified through his use of terminology (v. 4). Finally, I will identify the type of unity formed between conscience, the inner court of the human, and radical evil (v. 5).
