The purpose of this study is to look at the social criticism and humanity lying in the film of Dradenne brothers, Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne because every movie produced by the brothers is paid great attention by the Cannes Film Festival. To this end, the work, “The Kid with a Bike” produced in 2011 is going to be tried to be focused on. Actually, this film is not the work with a big difference in terms of format and style compared with other works of those which have been produced so far. In particular, we need to pay attention to the closing part of the movie. The work meets the sudden ending with pessimistic state as some other works do. This kind of ending has played a role in alluding the states of desperate persons, uneasy workers and gloomy future of people around. But Dardenne brothers let the person ‘Samantha’, who symbolizes the hope in this film for the first film. That is, the way how to improve the pessimistic state is also presented unlike the previous works. Likewise, “The Kid with a Bike” has the renovating potentialities in new film aesthetics as well as the enhancement of the filmmaking style Dardenne brothers have so far pursued.
