Nike, inc. has outsourced the production of its footwear in low-wage countries. And then in developed countries, Nike has sold its footwear at a high price. On the one hand, Nike has signed an endorsement with attractive Sports Stars(esp. Serena Williams), and then advertised its footwear. On the other hand, Nike and Serena Williams have criticized against Race Discrimination and Gender Discrimination in America. Nike has prided itself as a corporation filled with the social-consciousness. Through the high profits of the outsourcing production, all this were possible. Though Nike has showed off its aspects of a social-conscious corporation, for cheap and qualitative footwear, Nike has squeezed its subcontractors and its factory workers in China and Southeast Asia(Indonesia and Vietnam). Accordingly Nike's subcontract factories did become a sweatshop. For Nike's contradictory position, Nike did become the target of the boycott.
