The study analyzes how college students who indirectly contacted North Korean society perceive North Korea and what they are thinking about for the reunification of the two Koreas. The subjects of this study are the results submitted by students taking liberal arts courses related to North Korea at K University in Seoul, which is not designated as a leading unification education university. The results were produced after watching the documentary 'Under the Sun' and the study was based on qualitative and subjective evaluation. The results of this study are as follows. First of all, the existing education on North Korea has been taught only about unification of the two Koreas, not North Korea, it's a commonplace story, and negative experiences about the North. Based on the theoretical framework, the study divided university students' perception of North Korea into three categories: ① decreased anxiety, ② empathy and understanding, and ③ increased knowledge of external groups. This research is meaningful in that it observed and analyzed the implications of indirect contact with North Korean society for university students' perception of North Korea despite its various limitations.
