The purpose of this study is to find the moral educational value of mindfulness from the perspective of brain science. Mindfulness is attracting attention because it can complement the emotional aspects that are recently emphasized in personality education. Recently, various fields have tried to secure objectivity by combining mindfulness with modern science such as brain science, psychology. This study tried to find out how to apply moral education to mindfulness through social emotional learning based on brain science. The significance of moral education based on brain science in Mindfulness education programs is as follows. First, it stimulate moral sentiments. Second, it is based on the principle of plasticity of the brain. Third, it emphasizes the emotion of empathy and compassion. Fourth, it strengthens moral and internal motivation through understanding the brain. Mindfulness education program based on brain science can be one of the proven educational method free from its religious colors. These universal and objective criteria can motivate parents, students, and teachers to apply meditation education.
