The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results of the Seoul Childcare Service Support Center and to find ways to improve it in the future.
To that end, the director of a public childcare center and child care teachers in Seoul were surveyed on the educational satisfaction of the child care service support center, and five directors and six teachers were interviewed in depth.
Director"s findings, First, overall education satisfaction was high. In particular, satisfaction with the teaching environment was high. Second, satisfaction with hiring a workforce pool was found to be low. They perceived a lack of teachers of the desired competence. Third, the director recognized that child care teachers had strengthened their professionalism after education of Childcare Service Support Center.
Teacher"s findings, First, child care teachers are highly satisfied with the workforce pool education. In particular, they showed high satisfaction with professors and education methods. Second, the level of satisfaction with the recruitment support for the workforce pool was low. The high cost of labor made it impossible to hire. Third, confidence and self-efficiency increased after education of Childcare Service Support Center.
Based on these results, this study proposed a plan to improve theoperation of child care service support centers in order to reinforce the public power support system in Seoul. In particular, we proposed a detailed implementation strategy to strengthen the institutional basis for supporting the capacity building of childcare-staff, diversify support for capacity building, and further enhance recruitment support.
