This article analyzes the composition and description system of Wanliyehuobian (萬曆野獲編). Shen Defu (沈德符) wrote politics, society, culture of Ming (明) dynasty in Wanliyehuobian (萬曆野獲編). Shen Defu (沈德符) is very qualified for excellent writer who write a series of historical facts. When he wrote Wanliyehuobian (萬曆野獲編), he was not an objective historian. But he wrote unofficial history focusing on those days, a period of Wanli (萬曆). Shen Defu (沈德符) took Ouyang Xiu’s (歐陽修) Guitianlu (歸田錄) as a model. Shen Defu (沈德符) understood biji (筆記) as a new writing style of Chinese classical prose that Ouyang Xiu (歐陽修) established very well. Shen Defu (沈德符) used the methods called hujianfa (互見法) that Ouyang Xiu (歐陽修) used method of description in Guitianlu (歸田錄). It is based on the narrative style of Sima Qian’s (司馬遷) Shiji (史記). Also, Shen Defu (沈德符) read many books about history at home. It is caused by his family who have been historians for generations. Wanliyehuobian (萬曆野獲編) is an essential complement to written official history. It is unofficial history that inclued the history of those days, Ming (明) Dynasty, especially Wanli (萬曆) period . Shen Defu (沈德符) tried to exploit the qualities of biji (筆記) that has the value of historical materials and wrote Wanliyehuobian (萬曆野獲編) for historical record of those days.
