이 연구의 목적은 유치원 교실에서 유아 의사표현의 모습을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 유치원 만5세 학급을 관찰했으며 연구 참여자들과 면담을 실시했다. 연구결과는 관찰자료, 면담자료 및 문서자료를 토대로 도출되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 참여 유아들은 유치원 일과의 활동에 대한 자신의 의사를 표현했으며 활동 참여 여부에 대한 의사를 표현했다. 유아들의 의사는 계획된 일과 내에서 제한적으로 실현되었다. 둘째, 참여 유아들은 자신의 견해를 자유롭게 발표했으며 자신의 느낌, 감정대로 예술표현을 했다. 유아들의 자유로운 표현은 교실 구성원들의 지지와 관련되어 있었다. 또한, 유아들은 놀이활동 중 팀을 나누는 권리에 참여했다. 이 연구의 결과는 유치원에서 유아 참여권을 신장할 수 있는 방안의 토대가 될 수 있다.
