The purpose of this study was to develop valid and reliable instrument to measure elementary and secondary school students' scientific emotions and survey scientific emotions in the generation of biological hypotheses. For the exploratory factor analysis, 220 fifth grade, 204 eighth grade, and 181 eleventh grade students were selected. For the final field test, 176 fifth grade, 186 eighth grade, and 179 eleventh grade students were selected from elementary, middle, and high schools in Korea. This instrument was developed by R & D process. The results of this study showed that the validity of the classification of scientific emotions, the construct validity, the inter-scorer reliabilities of the internal consistencies were found to be satisfactory. In the group and task comparisons, the differences of grades and tasks were statistically significant. Therefore, it can be concluded that the instrument is valid, reliable, and useful to measure elementary and secondary school students' scientific emotions.
