Textbooks should play the role of the teaching and learning materials reflecting the essential spirit of the curriculum. Especially among the required conditions of the textbooks as the learning materials, the connection is the constituent which can raise the efficiency by removing the misconception and stimulating the intellectual curiosity. This thesis analysed the vertical connection of the terms and the inquiry of the photosynthesis in seven kinds of middle school science 2 textbooks, six kinds of high school science textbooks, and six kinds of high school biology Ⅱ and reached the following conclusion.In the result of investigating the terms used in more than a half textbooks among the textbooks as the objects of the analysis, 14 terms in the middle school science 2, 21 terms in the high school science, and 120 terms in biology Ⅱ were found and when learning the biology Ⅱ since a learner can feel burdensome in understanding the terms and the new terms can be the cause of the decline of the learning desire and interest, maintaining the connection by adjusting the number of the learning contents and the terms presented in each textbook levels properly is thought helpful in enhancing the learning efficiency. Secondly, in a result of the analysis of the vertical connection on the inquiry of each textbook, it is investigated that between the middle school science 2 and high school science textbooks, one repetition, 6 developments, 2 differentials were found and between the high school science and biology Ⅱ textbooks, 2 repetitions, 6 developments, 7 differentials were found and as the levels get higher from middle school science 2 to high school science and biology Ⅱ, the connection was not achieved enough.
