This article examines the motif and the rearrangement of contents of The Great Learning in Daehak Sabyeonrok(大學思辨錄, Treatises on the Great Learnig) written by Park Sedang(朴世堂, 1629-1703). Park has been considered as the representive of post Neo-Confucianist stance in late Joseon period. Such evaluation was based on the estimation of Sabyeonrok, and especially a part of Sabyeonrok, Daehak sabyeonrok, which was a ciriticism against ZhuXi's Exegesis on Great Learning(大學章句), has been regarded as the most important and exemplar work reflecting such stance. Evaluation of Sabyeonrok bore two stages in history. The first one was to evaluate his work as belonging to 'Samunranjeok', and presented in the course of the series of debate between Noron and Soron in the time of Sukjong. The second one was assessing the work as one of post Neo-Confucianism, and suggested by modern academics. In this article, the author tried to clarify and re-assess the issues concerning Joseon scholars and the contemporary academics's evaluation of Daehak sabyeonrok, and then proceeded to analyse the motif of the work and the aspects of rearranging The Great Learning in it, mainly focusing on the validity of hitherto evaluation of the work as Samunranjeok or as the one of post Neo-Confucianist stance. In sum, the author concluded that, far from the hitherto evaluation of Sabyeonrok, the analysis of the motif and the rearrangement of The Great Learning in the book shows that Sabyeonrok cannot be an evidence of Park's being Samunranjeok or being post Neo-Confucianist.
