Report Errors
The theory of Wangs(王氏) are the Succession to the Shun or Caos(曹氏) are the Succession to the Shun is developed based on the Rao demise. These two theories were created to establish the legitimacy of their respective regimes. They did not consider ‘the past’ of the ancient saint to be so beautiful, but to emphasize the chaos of ‘the present’ order, and to get the legitimacy to fix the chaos. Therefore Wang Mang combined the Rao demise and Jiu Ci(九錫) to establish the legitimacy of its own rule. Cao Cao(曹操) and Cao Pi(曹丕) referenced Wang Mang’s experience, also established the legitimacy of his own regime in the era of the separatist. But Caos created something new on the basis of Wang Mang. The model of Caos became a pattern that the wei, jin, southern and northern dynasties rushed to imitate. One of them is the political performance, another is the military government.
