The purpose of this study was to explore the role that student``s choice motivation of college major played in the relationship between their major satisfaction with and vocational selection in their major. For the study, using 307 self-reported survey data from students across hospitality & tourism disciplines at a 9 colleges, a multiple regression and simple regression analysis were performed to determine if students could be grouped meaningfully based on the of their choice motivation of major and major satisfaction and vocational selection. The conclusions from results and discussions were as follows. First, two factors including intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation were derived as student``s choice motivation of college major. Second, as a result of the analysis of multiple regression, the major selection motivation had a positive relation to the degree of major satisfaction according to the hypothesis, especially intrinsic motivation. Thus, this result suggested that major selection motivation contributed most to major satisfaction. Third, major satisfaction was the only one that was identified by the simple regression analysis as having a direct effect on vocational selection. This relationship follows the expected pattern described in the hypothesis. Therefore, this result suggested that major satisfaction contributed most to vocation selection. The scholarly and practical implication of this research, student``s choice motivation of college major were important factors the degree of major satisfaction, and vocational selection. In conclusion, this findings could be used to develop the meaningful strategies in students and college authorities.
