The purpose of this study was to investigate changes of health-promotion factors on physical activity and age in Korean males and then provide a fitting exercise guideline for age. The study subjects were 742 men divided into group of age range(20`s, 30`s, 40`s, 50`s) and exercise(exercise, non-exercise). The health-promotion factors included risk of chronic disease(fasting blood sugar, blood pressure, % body fat and WHR), and health-related fitness factors(cardio-respiratory fitness, flexibility, muscular strength, and muscular endurance). For the statistical analysis, the data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program including descriptive statistics and 2-way ANOVA. A statistical significance was accepted at the level of p<.05. The results of this study were as follows: Fasting blood sugar was significantly different on age increases(p<.05), whereas no differences were shown in exercise group. Blood pressure was significantly different due to a range of age and exercise(p<.05). Body fat percentage was significantly different due to a range of age and exercise(p<.05). WHR(waist-hip ratio) was significantly different on age increases(p<.05). Health-related fitness factors were significantly different due to a range of age and exercise (p<.05). In conclusion, continuous exercise can reduce the loss of physical strength and protect the body from chronic disease that can cause as Korean male aging. Therefore exercise recommended for health promotion and maintenance after 40`s of Korean male.
