The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of twelve-weeks floorball exercise on body composition and physical fitness in elementary school students. Subjects aged 11~13years volunteered for the study. The subjects were assigned into exercise(n=15) and control(n=15) groups. The exercise group played floorball 40 minutes twice a week for twelve -weeks. Subjects in the control group did not anything throughout the study period. Measurements were taken before the exercise and at the end of 12weeks, which included body composition (%body fat), muscle strength(grip and back muscle strength), muscle endurance (sit-ups), flexibility(sit-and-reach), muscle power(standing long jump) and agility(side-steps). It was used SPSS 12.0 statistic program for analyzing data. The results were as follows ; There were significant changes in some of the measurements except for body composition in the exercise group. The exercise group had improved muscle strength(grip and back muscle strength), muscle endurance(sit-ups), muscle power(standing long jump) and agility(side-steps). In conclusion, floorball exercise twice a week for twelve-weeks can effectively improve physical fitness for elementary school students.
