Kim, Chun-su’s meaningless poetry is dedicated not to the deconstruction of post modernism but to healing and regeneration which is in the higher state. It is assumed in the point of that Kim, Chun-su was eager to overcome trauma occurred by the political violence and every stage of meaningless poetry like a nonsense-image, a rhythmical language, and a magic language is for the pure language.
Kim, Chun-su’s meaningless poetry eventually pursue the magic language communicated with a god. This is why his poetry could be studied in terms of a ritual feature. A ritual ceremony is aimed for the rising of human spirit by the power of god. The painful process of enduring hardship symbolically means the death of body. A isolated man belongs to the chaos province and experience to descend to unconsciousness. Through this process, a man can be regenerated.
The man’s unconsciousness in the 『Cheoyongdanjang』reveals the chaos in the course of ritual ceremony. The deconstruction of Kim, Chun-su’s consciousness is the degenerated aspect in the middle of ritual space. ‘Sea’ is the space of regression for Kim, Chun-su. ‘Sea’ is the conterminous space between death and life and the symbol of Cheoyong. The 『Cheoyongdanjang』 including sea imagery describes the process of a regeneration after a death.
Meanwhile nonsense image and phoneme-decomposition in the 『Cheoyongdanjang』 means the sacrifice motif of killing language. A sacrificial offering is the essential element in ritual ceremony which relates man and devine. Besides there is a ritual element in the poem of song-form in the 『Taryeongjo』. The song in Kim, Chun-su’s poetry is related with a rhythmical language and a magic language. It is likely regional words.
Therefore the persona’s condition and the language experiment in Kim, Chun-su’s meaningless poetry are the eliments for the ritual process. Especially Kim, Chun-su’s language experiment like a deconstruction and song-structure indicates the ritual object and the ritual method at the same time. Kim, Chun-su hoped to overcome political trauma and regenerate to new human. These points say Kim, Chun-su’s poetry is the ritual poem-writing space for human’s remedy and regeneration.
