This study found the problem on the grammar of modern Chinese ‘shi bu shi+NP’ that have a variety of language correspondence form of Korean, pointing out the part of correspondence form inappropriate, furthermore have explained the meaning of each correspondence by the speech acts.
Results of the study can be summarized as: meaning of the ‘shi bu shi+NP’ can be divided into no tendency to answer requests, there is certainly a tendency to confirm the request, and emphasize positive or negative statements, and the request of answer(no vias) corresponds to the Korean language, and the use of affirmative-negative questions and yes-no question consisting of Vocabulary ‘맞다’, affirmative request of confirmation corresponds to a tendency Korean negative yes-no question, rhetorical usage corresponds to affirmative-negative questions, positive yes-no questions and negative yes-no questions.
In particular, this paper focuses on the ‘shi bu shi+NP’ represents neutral attitude of speakers about positive and negative proposition, and may also represent a the same speech act of the ‘shi bu shi+VP’, that is speakers with non-neutral affirmative attitude request hearer’s confirm. In this sense we can recommend a part of the ‘shi bu shi+NP’ distinguishes from affirmative-negative questions usage, Under the name of ‘shi bu shi’questions described with ‘shi bu shi+VP’ together.
The significance of this study is in that it was trying to explain Korean corresponding form of speech acts in accordance with the meaning of the question ‘shi bu shi+NP’ form. Some of the interrogative Korean corresponding forms of the ‘shi bu shi+NP’ don’t have discrimination between similar forms. And it could be a reference to the mutual teaching and learning by explicitly discussing the significance of the differences corresponding negative yes-no questions of Korean and the Chinese ‘shi bu shi+NP’.
