He transferred from the elementary school of Seoul to Japanese “Gakushuin Elementary School” at the age of 9 years old. “Gakushuin” was the educational institution for the royalty. He entered the Japanese military preparatory school after graduation in Gakushuin. And graduated from a military academy, Military Staff College and was assigned as a Japanese military officer afterwards. It had nothing to do with his will really.
However, he has one not having changed the will. It was a marriage partner. He married a Korean without marrying a Japanese for the Japan-Korea merger period. As for it, he was the only person among the Lee Royal family. He has died in 32 years old and eight months. The cause of death was because he was exposed to radiation to the atomic and hydrogen bombs which U.S. forces dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. He had a wife and two princes. His life continued being tossed about for the times and politics and war.
This article inspected a life of 이우 공전하by the document which the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department of Japan owns. There are 21 those documents in total and, from July 2, 1934 to May 4, 1936, is a record of approximately one year and ten months. About his “marriage” and “birth of the prince”, all the documents which I can disclose show it. I solve his life by a Japanese document. If this announcement helps friendship peace of “Korea and Japan”, I feel that I am glad.
