Popular culture contents made of general public, culture, contents and these three components are relative each other organically. The story carries the most importance through them. so researchers, businessman and public servants are interested in this field and working for the success in that kind of industry.
Culture contents has main purpose of public success from its birth, The engineering approach on stroy and stroy-business is necessary because of risk avoid. The purpose of story-engineering appoach means more objective and more predictable.
There are some limits on film contents analysis with former analysis methodology which is from literature. so the multi-aspect analysis is needed for the film for the researchers and business parts and film-promotion civil servants.
The summary of this work are follows. The three creative roll of making film are writer, director and producer. so as looking of three part of creative storytelling, the story-engineering methodology would be made.
As a result, High-concept, Sequence, Episode, Motif are the analysis elements for the writer. story-structure, composition of visual-audio, editing style, acting expression for the director and constituent of human resources, the scale of production cost, marketing strategy and target audience for the producer.
Especially genre film is main stream in film industry, The Story-engineering approach of that kind films is necessary and I hope that continuous study should be made.

대중문화콘텐츠는 대중, 문화, 콘텐츠의 세 요소가 유기적으로 상관하게 됨으로 그 정체성을 확보하게 되는데 스토리는 그 과정에서 중심 매개의 역할을 한다. 스토리와 스토리산업의 중요성이 점차 강조됨에 따라 학자들과 산업계 종사자 그리고 문화콘텐츠산업 진흥기관들은 저마다의 연구 과제를 수립하고 스토리와 스토리산업진흥에 힘을 기울이고 있다.
문화콘텐츠작품이 대중적 성공과 뗄 수 없는 태생적 관계를 가지고 있기 때문에 스토리에 관한 공학적 접근은 문화콘텐츠작품들을 분석함에 있어서 객관성과 예측가능성을 높이는 데 목적이 있다고 하겠다.
영화콘텐츠에 있어서 기존의 작품분석방법론만으로는 대중문화콘텐츠 리터러시에 한계를 보일 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 영화콘텐츠를 구성하는 각 요소들의 상호관계를 통한 입체적 분석은 영화콘텐츠 분석과 비평에 일정부분 준거의 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.
본 연구결과를 직접 활용할 수 있는 대상으로는 작가와 감독을 포함한 ‘영화제작자’, ‘영화제작사’, ‘영화진흥기관’, ‘영화제작 관계자’ 등이 될 것이다.
이번 연구의 결과를 간략히 정리하자면 영화콘텐츠의 작품분석에 있어서 스토리공학적 접근은 우선 영화제작의 주요 창작자인 시나리오작가, 감독, 프로듀서의 스토리텔링 영역을 먼저 구분함으로서 분석지표를 설정할 수 있었다. 연구결과에 따르면 시나리오작가는 하이컨셉트, 시퀀스, 에피소드, 모티프의 4개 요소를 통해 작품분석과 작품간 비교분석이 보다 객관적으로 가능함을 밝혔다. 그리고 감독의 경우엔 이야기구조, 영상구성, 편집스타일, 연기표현의 4개 지표를, 프로듀서는 제작관련 인적자원구성, 제작비 규모, 마케팅 전략, 목적관객층의 4개 지표를 통해 스토리공학적 분석이 가능함을 제시하였다.
특히 장르영화는 영화산업의 근간을 형성하고 있기 때문에 이와 관련한 스토리공학적 접근은 앞으로 지속적으로 이루어져야 하겠다.
