This research is to examine the impacts of the job-related factors to the employees` motivation in Korean hospitality industry. The sample consisted of 162 hotel employees and 58 management including 136(96 employees, 40 management) males and 84(66 employees, 18 management) females working at nine deluxe and seven first class hotels located in the two areas of Korea, Daegu and Gyeongju. For the purpose of this study, only the people in departments such as reception, housekeeping, restaurant and kitchen were studied. The research departments such as reception, housekeeping, restaurant and kitchen were studied. The research results show the effect of hygiene factors by themselves on hotel productivity level, to be equal to 0.212 (R²)at a very high significance level(F value = 6.32) whereas motivators on their own accounted for only 3.7 percent(R²=0.037) with significance level 0.249 of the variation in hotel productivity level. This analysis implies that the employees` productivity is more significantly impacted by hygiene factors than by motivation factors in the Korean hotel industry. The findings of this study shed some light on issues of hotel work and productivity and have implications for Korean hospitality industry that Hygiene factors do play an important role in the level of hotel employees` satisfaction and in the amount of effort they exert to increase productivity. The hotel management, therefore, should increase employees` interest in their work and develop such organizational structure and management policies as to create a need-satisfying environment.
