Drastic enrolment, a product of accessing and promoting equity education poses challenges to achieving the Millennium Development Goal of achieving universal primary education. Generally, literature on high enrolment and its impact on headteachers’ efficiency to plan school activities appear scanty in sub-Saharan African countries. The aim of this study therefore was to assess the impact of Universal Primary Education enrolment and how it affects headteachers’ efficiency in planning school activities. Using knowledge, opinions and views from 120 respondents on planning for enrolment from 20 primary schools the results show effects of enrolment for school activities. The respondents, however, had divergent opinions and views on headteachers’ efficiency to plan school activities. On the overall high enrolment has to a greater extent affected planning of school activities. The study recommends that headteachers should make evaluation reports on planning challenges for joint discussion and designing of appropriate strategies to deal with increased enrolment.
