The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility of the establishment of humanities therapeutics through ‘humanities school’ conducted with elementary and middle school students as a way of humanities therapy. The program of humanities school addressed in this paper is so called the program of ‘relationships and communication,’ and this program was developed in order to alleviate diverse mental and physical pains arising from the relationship breakdown. Recently one of the pains many modern people going through is that arising from ‘a relationship’ breakdown, which can be said to be caused by lack of communication, isolation alienation, first of all.
Additionally, this program is characteristic of being an integrated program using methods of education and counselling in order to help them pursue the most human life by carefully thinking of issues on relations and finding out solutions to communicate rightly for themselves as well as curing mental·emotional pains. Hence, this program aims at expanding the areas of thinking to home which is the smallest society where humans meet with each other, school and society under a basic premise that human beings are social beings, establishing their healthy self-images and making desirable human images. In the existing education where there's no room for seriously thinking about truly worthy and human life while the amounts of knowledge increase day by day, the program will play a positive role in combination with humanities education, counselling and cure.
