GUKNE castle was the palace of Koguryo from 37 B.C to 427. The building place of MINJU historic site studied by this Study gave significant data that can be utilized to investigate GUKNE castle.
In this way, MINJU historic site is the sizable building place located inside of GUKNE castle, and the characteristics of architecture remains inside of the capital city of Gokyuryo are noted through the recent excavation reports. Gokyuryo transferred its capital temporarily, but GUKNE castle was used as the palace during the great part of Gokyuryo period. Though the remains of the Gokyuryo period revealed through this excavation weren't provided enough information for the analysis, the study on the building place of MINJU historic site offered important data to understand the construction method of structures in the capital city of the Gokyuryo period through unveiling the disposition and the size of the building, the foundation stone which held up pillars, the arrangement of strengthen the basis which supported it, and the boring equipment that supported the weight of the buildi.
