This paper aims at researching about the neoldda[wide]/jobdda[narrow]’s description and the meaning opposite aspect in the dictionaries and corpus data. First I looked at eight great korean dictionaries. I found that All dictionaries about neoldda[wide] were a linear structure, and that six dictionaries about jobdda[narrow] were a linear structure and two dictoinaries were a a hierarchical structure. The neoldda[wide] has 6 meanings in the dictionary, and jobdda[narrow] has 6 meanings in the dictionary, too. But it dosen’t have an opposite description. The jobdda[narrow] used with teom[gap] or kumeong[hole]. The neoldda[wide] dosen’t used with teom[gap] or kumeong[hole]. Therefore I suggest that meaning description of antonym must be bilateral symmetry. So I suggest that fixing the meaning structure. And I looked at Sejong corpus data from The National Institute of The Korean Language. I made two lists. One was a word list with neoldda[wide]. Another was a word list with jobdda[narrow]. And then I extracted common words in two different lists. It shows that neoldda[wide]/jobdda[narrow] aren’t pairs of antonyms. It is different from that of the dictionary, too. So I think that it is important to describe the antonym description of neoldda[wide] and jobdda [narrow]
