This paper aims to overview old Korean dictionaries and to suggest ideal directions for the future old Korean dictionaries. The subject of this study includes the lists of old Korean words published in magazines as well as dictionaries published in book form. We introduce sixteen different kinds of dictionaries and analyze the characteristics of each. Moreover, we compare the arrangement of entries in each dictionary and examine the type of information included for each entry word: the use of side dot, exposure of Chinese characters, part of speech information, morphological analysis, conjugational forms, synonyms, etc.
