Food and drinking in China has a long history and profound influence. Chinese pay attention not only to the nice food, nice taste and nice drinking, but also the beauty of implements, and stress the perfect and harmony of implements and food. Drinking implements are one of the most significant representatives. Like Han, ethnic minorities have their own characteristic drinking implements. This article discussed over 200 pieces of traditional drinking implements from Mongolia, Oroqen, Tibet, Miao, Buyi, Naxi, jingpo, etc. collected in the museum of the Central University of Nationalities, and summarized different types of traditional drinking implements from Chinese ethnic minorities combined with concerned documents. At the same time, this article analysed the different features of drinking implements.
This article thought that drinking implements can not only be used in daily life, but also were one kind of cultural phenomena with profound contents.
