The objectives of this research are to investigate the effects of organizational factors such as established internal manpower, amount of investment on facility and equipment, the degree of cost saving, and relationship period between two partners of outsourcer hospital and outsourcee clinical laboratory firm on the hospital members' resistance and adoption of the outsourcing strategy.
A survey study was conducted to collect the data with hospital members in charge of laboratory inspection tasks. A LISREL analysis was performed to test the hypotheses. The results show as follows. First, the hospital members' resistance on the adoption of outsourcing strategy was found to be affected by the degrees of internal manpower establishment and cost saving by the employment of outsourcing strategy. Second, the amount of investment on clinical laboratory facilities and equipments and the length of partnership period were not found to affect the level of members' resistance. Third, the level of members' resistance was found to influence the degree of the organizations' present outsourcing and intention to use the future outsourcing strategy. In conclusion, organizations' resistance on the adoption of new strategy such as outsourcing was shown to affect significantly the use implementation of new business strategy.
