The purpose of this paper is to clarify and define the N-Generation, image, and identity of these important concepts. To educate the moving-image culture of N-Generation, it is meaningful to examine the needs, motivation, experience, incorporation, use of N-Generation. Don Tapscott said that N-Generation is suitable for a new generation growing in multi-media circumstances. No doubt that one couldn't unionize many fields of concept. For instance, there is name X-Generation as a new generation in the past, and now there is an Y-Generation. In the past there were some views about X-Generation is the negative context of private, unsociable character. However, N-Generation is defined as optimistic character. Through this discussion and definition, this paper will make it clear the discourse of better moving-image education in these days.
N-Generation has a fusion life style that makes high-tech media like computer, personal computer communication, mobile phone and internet as well as current media like book, magazine, newspaper, and TV. They are so familiar with VR(virtual reality) and virtual space through computer games are facing to change rapidly called new media technology. But, now, we have entered new media era that provides different level of media services from the past as diverse new media appear. Youth, a new media generation called N-Generation, can be real player of this era only when they have ability to take control of diverse media, information and culture for their own use. To this end, we should provide diverse media education and production opportunity for N-Generation. And we should help them become an utilizer of new media.
