Many researchers explain the position saying that Net Generation will be the new leader of coming changed society, because they have grown up contacting digital media. And they are proved as an counterproposal that can adapt to chaotic natural world, because they are born to metapholical sense and learn how to relate to culture and existence by themselves. Net Generation has influence on culture and art generally as a positive object. Furthermore they participate as an active subject. Particulary the positiveness and the amateurism of Net Generation, the film Generation are coming out as energetic works in Youth Film Festival. Net Generation expresses its interest evenly in various field like drama, animation, music video and so on. In this report I intend to discuss new technique showing documentary film that teenagers push camera to the actual situation they are faced with and reveal their voice strongly. Among many films, the objects for discussion are nine documentaries that win prize in "Seoul International Youth Film Festival" and "Seoul YMCA Youth Film Festival." In these films, I'll discuss what kind of characters does Net Generation show as had been expected keeping in mind.
It appears that expository mode is dominant, as a result of analyzing Youth Film Festival works on the grounds of Bill Nichol's five modes of documentary that is expository mode, observational mode, interactive mode, reflexive mode, performative mode. It looks that it reflects not only the influence of TV documentary that uses explanation as its major technique, but also their will that wants to express their thought and opinion directly. And there are genre's mixing, dominant use of sound, problem-solution construction as detailed characters. We can confirm this point that aspects like Net Generation reveal in documentary, in the point that these are characters like Net Generation that reveal in another media.
Discussion about Net Generation occurs actively through recent seminar. Characters like Net Generation reveal in Horror movie, B-grade pornographic film, animation, advertisement and so on. It seems that these characters will have great influence on film culture. Besides the aspects of Net Generation's works should be discussed in consideration of many factors like present state of mechanical equipment, intervention of teacher, censorship of school, character of the group.
