Russian eurasianism has begun among the russian emigration groups in 1920-s. G. Vernadskii, N. Trubetckoi, L. Gumilyov were the members of this new philosophical school. They reconsidered the influence of Mongol on russian society during 13-15 cc. They reversed stand-firm opinions on the mongolian reign, which had been considered without exception as negative, shameful and loathful period in the russian history.
Against all these traditional views, eurasianists thought that Rus of Moscow period, having actively accepted mongolian systems of governing nations, army, tax etc., tried to obtain all the territory, conquered by mongolian empire. According to the eurasian theory, Moscow Rus, being officially the last and the only successor of Constantinople, at the same time have goaled to the eurasian superpower. Eurasianism revealed the very asian sources in the russian ideas and soul, which had always persisted to belong to the european world.
Therefore Eurasia had been regarded at first as the imaginary geography, and then later as the real one to russians. In the past eurasian territory had been considered for russians as alien, unfamiliar and pagan world. Russian every time has been tried to belong to the european world, hence she has despised the asian sources and eurasian world.
But as time goes by, Russia stood as eurasian power both territorially and spiritually, though she officially and deliberately had orientation toward Europe. Eurasianism revealed the asian sources, hidden in the very europeanized russian mind and ideas.
