We know that good omens came the king s palace and king hunted the good omens directly. With this, the good omens in Koguryo connected with the tendency of royal authority.
If the auspicious thought in Koguryo was influenced by Chinese, what did it means? it means that the royal authority in Koguryo was justified by the order of heaven. After all, Koguryo had her own independent character and sacred royal authority. In the mean time, Samguksagi wrote the white roe was catched by the kings of Koguryo. It was different from Chinese records in the description.
We noticed the good omens in Koguryo to be found from B.C. 1th century to A.D. 3rd century frequently. During the period, the good omens were used the establishment of sovereign power. From A.D. 4th century to the middle of A.D. 6th century, We noticed that the good omens were not found many times. This means that the importance of the good omens were diminished. In other words, the royal authority of this period in Koguryo was strengthened. We found that the good omens were not found frequently from the middle of 6th century to King Bojang, The influential Nobility divided the power in that time. So the influential Nobility hold the royal authority in check. Judging from this, there was an indissoluble connection between the royal authority and the good omens.
