Here’s the present and the outlook of the Korean classical ochestral music and we can summarize it as four major points.
1. Although the instruments of the Korean classical ochestral music consist of approximately 10 classes, more instruments should be included after the further restoration and improvement of the Korean classical music instruments.
2. The present ochestral formation, which is consisted of about 50 musicians, is too small to express the characteristics of the Korean classical ochestral music. In the future, the formation should be consisted of about 120 musicians and 12 classes(관?).
3. The Korean classical music exclusive theater which is fully equipped with sound facilities should be constructed prospectively.
4. We should adopt the foreign music independently and be equipped with independent spirit.
The desirable goals of the Korean classical ochestral music are internally the former two points and externally the latter two points. The internal and external factors should be combined and finally result in the prospective aspect of the Korean classical ochestral music.
