This study aims to compare the 'butterfly' images of Park Bong-woo and other poets. Until now the study of Park Bong-woo and his poetry been at the stage of simple investigation about the importance of the aspect of history on literature or poetry. Furthermore, respective study results were limited to the 1950's. Except for few conferences that addressed Park's poetry as a whole, the late poetry after the 1960's have been argued in terms of an external view of literature. However, it was too expensive to study about Park Bong woo's poetry in the age of 1950. His trace that leaves in Korea's modern times is so big. Such tracks appear in the image of 'butterfly' which project the poet's spirit.
'Butterfly' is a image suggests the poet's idea and longing. In the poem, the poet compares a butterfly and fly. The butterfly finds Utopia which Park dreamed of a "flower garden". The Butterfly's journey concerns an understanding about the poet's lifetime, historical fact and his grope for the nature of direction. The time which includes the butterfly's journey is the time of liberation, the Korean war, 4ㆍ19, 5ㆍ16 1970's, the times which dreamed of a jump to an industrial society. It also includes age of the partition of the Korean peninsula and the historical space which add 1980's Kwang-ju as a relish. So, in this logical connection, through the image of 'butterfly' in Choi Seung-woo, Kim Ki-rim, Kim Kyu-dong, Kim Su-young, Kim Gi-ha, ect.,'s poetry, I'm going to verify the suggestive 'butterfly' image of Park bong-woo.
