Before Tankunneung(檀君陵)'s excavation in 1993, the academic world of North Korea explained Kochosun's history using archeological data. The current of Kochosun's culture was mainly changed from Mandolin shaped bronze daggers to Narrow shaped bronze daggers, and the cultural center was also changed from Liaoning Provence to a party of Liaodong-North east Korean territory. So, the large part of Kochosun's inheritance was the culture of Mandolin shaped bronze daggers that was presence in Liaoning Provence, especially Liaodong and a part of North east Korean territory.
For example, it is important heritages that were Misongni type earthenware culture in Liaodong and Mandolin shaped bronze daggars culture in Shenyang Zhengjiawazi (鄭家窪子) and Liaoyang Aldaohezi (二道河子). Especially, more than hundred cremated human bones were excavated at Gangsang tomb (崗上墓) and Lusang tomb (樓上墓) in Lyushun city (旅順市). Therefore Liaodong peninsula is estimated the center of Kochosun.
Recent times, the academic world of North Korea is received the Tangun and the Tangunchoson based on the Tankunneung found in 1993 and insisted that ancient country called Kochosun was existence around Pyongyang 5000 years ago. And Kochosun in Korean peninsula had been continuously being the tradition by Nangnang feudal lord, in spite of made inroads into Liaodong by Han (漢). So, the academic world of North Korea explain but at Daedong river, cultural inheritance of Kochosun and Nangnang, not at Liaoning Provence. Wanggumseong(王儉城), the royal castle of Kochosun is treated as Hwangdae castle in Pyeongyang and around there. And when people lived in period of Tangun, the largest community was Pyodae relics near Pyongyang, the sovereign who lived there, had strong rights to bury living slaves with the dead in a dolmen and stone cist tombs (石棺墓).
