The Slender Bronze Daggers Culture was distributed not only in the Korean Peninsula, but also in the Liaodong area. The northwestern area of the Korean Peninsula belongs to the Dot Zone of the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture of the Liaoning style and the Korean style.
The Slender Bronze Daggers Culture in the Liaodong area developed in the southern and eastern areas of the Qianshan Mountain Range(千山山脈). Since assemblage such as tombs and bronze arms revealed separate characteristics in time and space, it is possible that this area designates the regional culture of the Yinjiachun Complex(尹家村類型) and the Jimingcheng Complex(上堡村類型).
The Yinjiachun Complex revealed the aspects of Slender Bronze Daggers Culture in the Liaodong Peninsula, and it was the key to understanding the material culture of Wiman Joseon(衛滿朝鮮). The tombs with wooden coffin filled with stones(積石木棺墓), the tombs with cymbal-style jar coffins(合口式甕棺墓), the Yinjiachun-style Slender Bronze Daggers(尹家村類銅劍) and pottery(尹家村式土器), and mounted dishes called dou(豆) also were main cultural elements.
The Liaoning-type bronze arms identified for the Slender Bronze Daggers Phase in eastern Liaodong(belonging to the Jimingcheng Complex) are closely connected with the Korean type of bronze arms. The Jimingcheng-style Slender Bronze Daggers(上堡村類銅劍), the Liaoning-type Bronze Halberd(遼寧式銅戈) and bronze spearheads(細形銅?類), and other objects identified for the Slender Bronze Daggers Phase were principal cultural elements.
Weapons that share various attributes are distributed throughout eastern Liaodong and the northwest Korean Peninsula. These weapons include the bronze dagger, the bronze halberd, and the bronze spearhead. As a result, we can know that the spatial distribution of the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture in the third century BCE did not terminate at the Cheongcheon River(淸川江). It must be the culture of late Gojoseon(古朝鮮).
It is thought that the governor of Wiman Joseon showed political authority by using iron weapons and chariot fittings and harnesses. In the material culture of Wiman Joseon, there are various culture elements, such as the Zhongyuan style of Yan China(燕) and Han China(漢), and the Xiongnu(匈奴) style, including the native Slender Bronze Daggers Culture.
